Not exactly. Hala. Listen, the reason i'm telling you this, is so you know, that where i'm from, there are no rules, No sociatal norms, no moral obligations, none of that, and the reason being, we never set them. We allowed you to shape your own path, choose how you wished to live on your own. Some choose better than others, but all are valid. So when you see something, hear something, remember who taught you how to think about it in the way that you're going to want to respond. It wasn't us, it was your leaders, and their leaders before them, dating back to the first settlements within your world.
There are a few things, I myself hold dear, others will have their own opinion, but me, personally. Only a few truths....
I never lie, I never keep secrets, and.... family is the most imporant thing you'll ever have. They are your first relationship, they are your longest relationship, and that bond is stronger than any other you will ever experience.
And that I strive to maintain a balance, between what is good for some, and not so much for others. But what is good for one, isn't for another, but what is good for them, isn't good for the first, and neither, will be good for a third. It's that balance i'm constantly maintaining. I don't choose sides, I don't get involved in conflicts, politics, or governing of societies.
That said, when a society does determine how it will live, their rules, have no dominion over me, though I will do my best to respect it while a guest in their presence. Even if they don't always know who their guest is...
